Flores has hit the ball hard tonight with nothing to show for it.

I noticed that.  I wouldnt be surprised if they paid Lo Duca to go out there and fake an injury to put him on the DL.

That's funny but I doubt LoDuca would go for that. I'm sure he wants to play.

I always just suspected, unfounded but still thought about it, that Young wasn't really badly hurt but he was pouting about not starting after last season. And then he was magically ready to return when NJ got hurt.

It's hard for me to believe that we'll be dealing Dmitri in the offseason. There will still be question marks regarding NJ, and Dmitri's only getting older. Bad combo. I hope we can pull something off, though.

Anyone know what kind of contract Johnson has (length/salary) off the top of their head?

Speaking of Young, does anyone else find it curious timing that Young went on the DL with some sort of problem yet somehow was able to return on the same day NJ went on the DL?

fat boy didn't want to sit on the bench.

I think that's a realistic possibility.

All these injuries this year have seemed very suspect.  It might be that they just suck at getting accurate diagnosis for them, that they or freak injuries, or something else.  But it seems like they say one day a guy is fine then next week he is on the DL for a month (remember the whole Zimmerman thing).  It is almost like they dont want to admit their players are injured.

BAM! Balester finishes the 6th unscathed. SOLID outing from the young buck against Scranton:

6 IP 9 H 2 R 2 ER 2 BB 3 K 0 HR (102 pitches, 64 strikes)

ABC is airing I survived a Japanese Game Show at 9 pm.  Tonight, they're supposed to have a teammate trying to eat from a plate on another teammate's HEAD, while that person is running on a treadmill.

The Japanese TOILET has a remote control.  True, they just showed it flush.

Bally with a decent night and didn't even have his best stuff:

6 ip, 9 h, 2 er, 2 bb, 3 k.
...he threw 102 pitches and his ERA is now @ 4.00 even.

this eam reminds me of a little league team i ass. coached a couple years back. they played 12 games, and lost all of them. they were a complete disaster.

they remind me of the Nats. Except they seem better.

Looks pretty average to me. Below average for a Minor Leaguer expected to pitch in the majors.

Then there is that other show "Wipeout" (no, not Nats baseball) which is the Americanized version of MXC which completely sucks.

I can't betray watching those atrocities when I can watch MXC on DVD.

Not a bad outing but I'd like to see the hits cut down on. I think he will probably start on Sunday against the birds.

According to that, we could get rid of FLOP after this season.

Garland's WHIP is 1.45, which means a real team can have a big rally.

This seems to be true from what I have read on predicting Minor Leaguers in to the majors.  Most experts will agree that WHIP is actually a much better predictor.
