Manny should be fired immediately after the game for bringing out Ayala to walk the lead-off hitter.

Luis shouldn't be on this team.

Neither should Hanrahan. He can't throw freaking strikes.

Our bullpen is bar none, the worst in baseball. They can't throw strikes and when they do they always get hammered.

Disappointed in Joel.  He has the stuff, he just doesn't have the mental approach.

I understand this team has a shortage of talent, but Manny has to be held responsible for some of his moves recently.

What I like about Dave Trembley of the O's is he's not a hothead in any means, but he'll light a fire under some belts when he has to and he doesn't stick with guys for longer than needed (WMP, Felipe, Ayala, Hanrahan).

Manny needs to pick it up.  In both ways.

Our bullpen is full of situational pitchers at best

2 walks killing us.  Catalanotto singled to left, Boggs scored, Byrd to second.  Saltalamacchia singled to center, Byrd scored, Catalanotto to third.

Nationales 3
Short Still Sucks 5

Maybe we should have brought in "Super Bowl" Manning, a lefty, instead of 2 righties.  If we had a REAL manager who actually USED stats, and REAL pitching coach, maybe we would have...

Colome, Luis, Saul, WMP, Flop.  Guys that shouldn't be on the team.  Makes you wonder about Manny's intentions.

Manny isn't the one who makes those decisions.

I like how everyone is treating Manny like he's the one refusing to release the players who suck and refusing to get better players on the roster.

yeah, to be fair he doesnt decide who is on the roster, but he DOES decide who gets to play and what pitchers to use in what situations.  Ill agree, the Ayala decision was the game changing decision and looks like it will cost the game.

Maybe Manny should make a stand and and only play Flores, Guzman, Lannan, and Rauch for the rest of the season.

let everyone else on the 25-man roster sit on the bench.

I wish that was possible, maybe we would win some more, but I get what you are saying.

Dukes has had 2 real good games this season.  Most of the others have just been terrible.

Agreed, that's the GM's decision - for any team.  But Manny and Randy Claire are the ones who decide to bring out right-handed relievers to face the team that hits righties better than any team in baseball, when they are weak against lefties.  Why not just spit in the wind, instead?  No game plan to actually win.  Manny is probably pressured to play Pena, but he could have made him a permanent Lenny Harris-trained pinch hitter, instead of a starter.

so bring in Manning and let him pitch the rest of the game because we are afraid of their righty-hitting?

Good inning by Shell.  Do we have some late inning magic in us?

C.J. Wilson is painfully hittable. We might have some assistance in that old black magic in the bottom of the 9th.

Milledge now 1 for his last 23. But keep him in the #3 hole Manny, it's really doing wonders for our lineup.
