According to RotoWorld, and I quote, "Junior Spivey suffered a broken wrist while hitting before today's game and is expected to miss eight to 12 weeks. At least he waited until after Jose Vidro returned to get hurt. Spivey was expected to be in a backup role for the rest of the year anyway."

Could they make it a mobile one, that way they could set it up at the end of the dugout for every game, home and away... The injuries to this team are becoming ridiculous. Whoever is in charge of player fitness should be fired.

Even worse, he was supposed to be trade bait.  Now who's going to want a utility infielder with a broken wrist?  Wrist injuries take forever to heal.

And since Spivey will be out for at least 2 months, and possibly more, trading him this year is out of the question. His getting injured probably means that if the Nats want to improve the roster, they'll have to part with more prospects to make up the difference. Since there are very few quality prospects around, what's one extra year to rebuild the farm system?

He has no value now but I'd trade him for Micheal Restovich.I"m talking ya, Restovich is a talented baseball player...he has alot of potential...he's a decent batter.I don't think, he'll play everyday for us since he's a LF but he could play like SPivey and replace injuries and play at times.

Just a random thought but Ken is right...I don't think, we'll be able to trade him.No team would want an injury player.

So this is bum news, along with the tooth-gnashing loss (poor John Patterson!).

But maybe it will bring a smile to your face to know the Braves are losing 6-2 to the Brewers.  (Try not to think about the squandered opportunity to add a game to our lead.)
