Oh man, I was wrong. We should have gotten Kelly before if we wanted him that bad. freak! What's going on here?
I know.  Who in the freak is going to block for Campbell and who exactly have we added to get pressure on opposing QBs? These were our two weak spots.

It's kind of odd that Steve Young said he'd unretire to play w/ these guys we've drafted. He said all three are perfect for the West Coast offense.

I guess this means Anthony Mix isn't gonna get his shot anytime soon.

The one we should've waited to get, IMO. But hey, I'm gonna believe in the Skins w/ these picks. There has to be a reason for them. Plus, they probably know that there's a good pick coming up for them.

Terrible first day.  The trade and the Thomas selection was a great moment, but everything was downhill from there.

Maybe not. We'll have to wait and see. Our offense was far worse than our D last season.

This year they'll probably say the same crap about having to learn a new offense and how it takes a couple of years to get it going :?

It was, but I still can't understand the Davis pick.  You know why our offense wasn't good enough?  Our O-Line was horribly inconsistent.  And now, on day 1 of the draft, they've done nothing to shore up that area.

They're counting on Jansen and Thomas to stay healthy :?

That needs to be unacceptable. This season very much so is on Jason Campbell's shoulders.

I didn't see the last few seasons as them having a tough time learning the playbook as much as a combination of bad playcalling and poor execution.

Davis gives us that option to switch up the packages at the line. He's a Colston-like TE (when Colston was a TE) and definitely gives us a unique option on offense.

Don't doubt that we'll be getting our DE soon in this draft. They already said Daniels will be the starter again this season anyways.

I think Daniels sucks because he only produces in a short spurt (notice it's singular because he only has one spurt per season). He's overpaid and often hurt.

I agree. I haven't liked him for a while. He's a good tackler, but that's about it these days. That's why we need to draft (or even pick up) someone who can replace him every 3 or 4 downs.

What's with all the offense? We have a Pro Bowl caliber TE? Don't we need D-backs?

We're not in desperate need of DB's, but it'd be nice to get an extra one this offseason.

Well, no more Sean Taylor plus 100 year old Sean Springs makes me nervous. Again, Justin King tomorrow would be awesome - another guy who skipped his senior year to go in the later rounds.

That forum is barely more active than this thread. Just go to http://extremeskins.com if you really need a straight Skins board.

Maybe the Skins are just relying on Chris Wilson to be a good enough pass rush specialist to produce.  I don't know.  I hope they're seeing an adequate number of late-round steals, and they're going for value.  I'm just annoyed because I don't really see what differentiates Davis from Cooley.  Maybe they're looking for an heir apparent to Cooley, but I'd hope that they'd use Cooley as tradebait if that's what they're doing.  Don't take notes from the Nationals and get nothing for your veterans. :?

The West Coast offense works better if you have two athletic TE's. There's no default setup for it, but there usually is only one RB in the backfield. Davis can run and Cooley is a great short route TE, so I see it as a great idea to have both.

I think you're right, we should be looking for the defensive players in the later rounds.

Cooley isn't getting traded. He has a long term deal in place so he'll be around for a while. Can you imagine the outrage trading Cooley would cause? There are so many people (especially at extremeskins) who are in love with Cooley for some "strange" reason.

Cooley's a tough guy on the field and he can catch anything thrown his way. He's not the best blocker, but he's not required to most of the time anyways. It'd be ridiculous to trade him.
