All signs point to one or both of Taylor and/or Carter to have a huge year.

It's just a shame we don't have the other Taylor around anymore to complete our defense.

Yeah, I'm a bit worried about the defensive backfield. Sean Springs is OLD.

I read somewhere that he's in great shape and feels recharged. Of course that's not saying much and can be meaningless if he breaks down like he always does. The key will be to see whether Rogers and McIntosh will be fully healthy by the start of the season.

Did the Saints get ripped off, or what?!? they gave up a second and fifth rounder this year for Jeremy Shockey, a tight end.

Shockey is basically a top WR. That's not a bad deal for the Saints at all, IMO.

Last time I saw something on his injury they were saying they were not planning on him to be back until October.  I wouldn't be surprised if they had Tryon fill in at nickel back until Rogers gets back, with Springs and Smoot playing left/right.  I have read a couple things on Tryon that have made him sound decent, hopefully he is not the next Ade Jimoh.

EDIT:  I just saw on Redskins Radio that Rogers was practicing and should be in the opening game.

The Saints still have a god-awful defense. This move does nothing but make their offense better and their team lamer.

he's more of a blocking tight end, and he can catch pretty well. for blocking, he's a top TE. but he would hardly make my top 5 TE list, if he were to make it at all. IMO.

Yeah, not too big of a setback. I thought it was going to be worse.

Don't know how many have seen it, but it's pretty sweet. One of the better ones.

I saw Rocky McIntosh on the practice field yesterday on one of the news channels. Zorn just said he's just coming back and probably won't play Sunday but that's encouraging anyway. It may mean he will be ready for the opener.

I don't understand why many "experts" say we need depth at LB. We have Fletcher for at least two years, probably three. Marcus Washington is vey solid. And McIntosh, even with injury will be there for a while, posted 105 tackles in 15 games last year. He is a very solid player.

Marcus Washington is done in my book. We need to dump him in the off season and find a suitable replacement.

Why?  What has he done to be "done"?

Marcus is better than anyone we have that could come and fil-in for him so we are stuck with him.

Marcus Washington will be 31 this year. He is not the same player he was his first 2 seasons here in Washington. He seems slower and injury prone. Unless he returns to 2004 form we need to get rid of him and find a way to upgrade the position. I'd like to believe he can return to that form but I doubt it. I think his career is declining.

Has anyone noticed that it has become increasingly difficult to find video clips of NFL players online?  I was trying to find Clinton Portis' first touch as Redskins, which used to be posted all over, only to realize the clip has been deleted off of nearly every web site in which it once resided.  I wonder if the NFL is cracking down on sites like YouTube to take "licensed" video off.

Weird story about that play. We got up early that day because we wanted to be in the parking lot by 9 to start tailgating. My brother spent the night at my house and the first thing I said to him when we woke up was that I had a dream that Portis took his first touch to the house for 58 yards. Even though I missed it by 6 yards we were freaked out by how close I had come. The stadium was electric during and after that play.

Good call.  I also have a somewhat compelling story from that game, one of the reasons I remember that play so much.  I was in college and was "seeing" two girls at the same time.  I was unable to pick which one I wanted to go out with (even though technically I was going out with both), because they were both gorgeous girls.  So, during this period I was watching the Redskins game that so happened to be Portis' first game.  One of the two girls walked in right before the Portis play, gave me a kiss on the lips and right as she moved her body from between the TV and myself, I saw Portis cutting and then heard Joe Buck (I think) go "Clinton Portis.. WELCOME TO WASHINGTON!"  Needless to say, after the game I called things off with the other girl.  Being a sports fan sure makes some of the more difficult choices in life a little bit easier. :)
