Lannan is now 3-3 with a 3.40 ERA. Is he eligible for Rookie of the Year?
(I don't know why, but that picture in Reply #70 is slowing this page down like a mofo for me. Well, the last page now.)
I'm not gonna lie, I'm getting close to becoming a complete believer in this kid.
John Lannan and Tim Redding are now in the top 20 for lowest ERAs among starters in the National League. They're right behind Johan Santana (Santana at 3.30, Lannan 3.40, Redding 3.55).
Sweet but I'd still take Santana over either one right now.
It's pretty cool that we're getting similar numbers from guys that are paid a fraction of what Santana is, though.
Absolutely. I also thought Lannan would be a good #4 but I am now beginning to lean/hope that he will eventually be a #2. OT: The Celtics survived.
My favorite thing about him is his ability to really work the outside corner against righties w/ his backdoor breaking ball. He does rely on a consistent ump, though. When he doesn't get those calls, he gets hit. Bad umps are the ones that don't make those calls, so that doesn't worry me too much.
john lannan 4 nl rookie of the yr.volquez will come down to earth.
I agree. Is Fukudome eligible for ROY?
Yeah, he'll be a millionaire in no time. My favorite thing about him is his ability to really work the outside corner against righties w/ his backdoor breaking ball. He does rely on a consistent ump, though. When he doesn't get those calls, he gets hit. Bad umps are the ones that don't make those calls, so that doesn't worry me too much. And yeah, thank goodness the Celtics won.
I was happy the Celts won too
I wasn't. Twill be harder for the Spurs to beat the Celtics than the Cavs.
