Looks like Clippard is doing everything he can to ensure he doesn't get called up in Sept.

He got lit up tonight: 4 IP 7 H 7 R 6 ER 5 BB 4 K 2 HR.

He has given up 14 earned runs over his last two starts.

I don't think he has what it takes to make it at this level.

Well, not AZ-esque splooging, but I do think it's an awesome pitch.

Zinicola needs/has earned a demotion. He has been freaking disgusting for the Clippers.

He got lit up again tonight in relief of Clippard: 2 IP 5 H 4 R 4 ER 1 BB 1 K. His ERA is up to 7.11.

They should have just left him at Harrisburg, I hope they learn something from this about promoting players.

Excellent. Seems like we have a boatload of projectable players performing down there.

Awesome job by the GCL Nats.  The top dogs (Gonzalez, Hood, Ramirez) all came through.  Each had two hits.  Hood and Ramirez both drove in 2 runs, while Gonzalez had one RBi and 2 runs.  Arnold also had a good start (5.2 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 6 SO, 0 BB).  Any indication why Nieto might have been held out for Sandy Leon?

Nice start by Will Atwood: 6 IP 4 H 0 R 0 ER 0 BB 8 K.

Norris homered and had 3 RBIs. Smolinski is starting to sizzle. His BA is up over .300.

Demny, Atwood, and Milone all have showed some potential this season.  I hope they continue what they started next season.  Smolinski seems to have been hampered by his injury for most of the season, I have a feeling he could have a breakout season next year.

What are Norris' numbers on the overall. I've seen that name a few time here now.

Wow, what a night for Dee Brown in Potomac.

He went 3/4 with a Double, Triple, HR, and 5 RBIs!

edit: nevermind.

Another nice start for Ozzie Rodriguez: 6 IP 6 H 1 R 1 ER 0 BB 3 K.

He's made 3 stars for the Hagerstown Suns: 17 IP 13 H 3 R 2 ER 1 HR 4 BB 17 K (1-2, 1.06 ERA, 1.00 WHIP, .210 AVG Against).

Call him up to Potomac.

The man can hit. He goes up to bat with a plan. I like that they are teaching him to steal - he's built to run a bit, believe it or not.

Shairon Martis returned from the Olympics and pitched six innings: six hits, one run, six strikeouts, two walks. Leonard Davis and Alberto Gonzalez had two hits each, including one solo home run apiece (Gonzo had 2 RBIs).

Harrisburg was eliminated from the playoffs.

The GCL Nats made the frontpage of milb.com today and there is actual live scoring for the game.

Josh Smoker got pulled after 1.2 innings, no word on why.  He had only let up one run.

The GCL Nats took game one of the three game series with the GCL Phillies, winning 5-1 (Chris Kelley picked up the win).  Smiley and JP Ramirez both came up big again.  Ramirez hit the first home run of the playoffs for the GCL Nats, he also had an RBI single.  Gonzalez finished the game 2-4 with a double and two RBIs.  Ramirez is now 4-9 with 4 RBIs in the playoffs, Smiley is also 4-9 with 4 RBIs.  Smoker was pulled in the second inning, most likely because he exceeded a pitch count during that inning.
