Randy Moss did that a couple of years ago. All the talking heads said what a terrible teammate he was, lack of respect etc... It seems to me a head coach doing it is much worse.

Yeah, David Aldridge on the Kornheiser show just brought that up. He also asked why Buck, who he referred to as something like the "judge of all morality in America" didnt say anything.

I wonder how Belichick feels about not trying that 49 yeard field goal in what I think was the 3rd quarter.

Speaking of jerks, what about that prick Jeremy Shockey?  Instead of being on the sidelines supporting and cheering on his teammates he was up in a suite boozing with his buddies. freak him, I hope they don't give him a ring.

Supposedly there is no love lost between Shockey and his teammates.  He is widely regarded as a prima donna who cares only about #1.  Him being on the sidelines would have only been a distraction from the team effort the Giants needed.

Shockey also wasnt allowed on the sidelines in prior games because he was on IR or something. I think that is what I read. He would have been allowed on the sideline for the SB though. I remember a story about how he didnt want to be a distraction and I kinda thought to myself "you really think you are that important and command that much attention? i kinda forgot about you"

1st and 6 at NYG 6 (2:55) T.Brady pass incomplete short left to R.Moss.
2nd and 6 at NYG 6 (2:49) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass incomplete short right to W.Welker. NYG-Ja.Butler was injured during the play.
3rd and 6 at NYG 6 (2:45) (Shotgun) T.Brady pass short right to R.Moss for 6 yards, TOUCHDOWN. 10 13

You need to run of first down to keep the clock moving. and take 45 seconds at least off the clock. especially when all you need is a FG

The giants would have gotten the ball back with less than two minutes as opposed to roughly 2:30 with 3 timeouts and the two minute warning. Its Madden fundamentals

Couple that with the Pats not trying the FG and it looks like the pats coaches let them down.

I was waitng for Belichick to call an illegal timeout or something

In Belichick's defense, though, he (and everyone else in the building) was under the impression that the game was over. He did shake the other coach's hand first.

This has become an issue. I think 3 other players died this season. How many of you recall seeing the 91 decal (or that of any other NFL player) on the Redskins helmets for their entire season?

This has become an issue. I think 3 other players died this season. How many of you recall seeing the 91 decal (or that of any other NFL player) on the Redskins helmets for their entire season?

Every NFL team wore the 21 sticker after Taylor's death, except most Patriots. The Pats had already been wearing the 91 sticker since the start of the season.  It was for Marquise Hill, their late defensive end and former LSU star player, who died in a jet ski accident May 2007 on Lake Pontchatrain near New Orleans, Louisiana, trying to save his girl friend from drowning.

Someone claimed that it is against NFL rules to wear more than one sticker, and the NFL gave the Pats permission to wear both the 21 and 91 during the first game after Taylor's death. The permission was only for that game, so the Pats removed the 21 sticker.  However, the photo evidence below confirms that most of them didn't wear Taylor's sticker at all.  All other teams left it on after that week, since it was within league rules to have one sticker.

Patriot WR Jabar Gaffney was asked about this by the Boston Herald.  He said the team didn't want the NFL to forget about their fallen teammate who died this past off season.  He said it was of no disrespect to not have Sean Taylor's number on their helmets, but to remember Hill.  He said the team voted on it and the Patriots players came to an anonymous vote/agreement not to wear 21.  At least 7 Patriot players still wore 21 as well.

Week 14; Steelers honor Sean Tayor; Most Patriots diss him

I could care less if any other team besides the Skins wore the number. The Redskins haven't always worn the number of other teams' dead players either. Not a big deal at all, IMO.
