AO has been awful but he has not been nearly as pathetic as Backstrom and Kozlov.  Kozlov has been invisible and Backstrom looks totally out of sorts.

Ovechkin is turning into the A-Rod of hockey.

I wouldnt say that. It is not the pressure that is getting in his head. It is a Phialdelphia gameplan that focuses on eliminating him.  Normally this should work to the benefit of Backstrom and Kozlov, but Backstrom can't score for crap.  Hopefully now that Fedorov is on that line, he can make Philly pay for paying too much attention to Ovechkin

Semin has had a lot of unlucky shots (hitting the pipe, going just wide, etc)...plus a couple of howlers (e.g. missing an empty net from point-blank range).  A slight change in angle and we would have seen different scorelines.

yeah. i've also noticed a lot of whiffs. just whiffing a wrist shot. its like dropping a ball while in the middle of throwing. i'm exaggerating, but not much

Also, Ovechkin is turning into the A-Rod of hockey.

Please refrain from posting about hockey until you know a little about it. "The A-Rod of hockey"?????????

HE'S TWENTY-TWO AND IN THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE FIRST TIME...not to mention his linemates are doing zippy to help.

Going to these games has reminded me what the old Patrick Division was like...playoffs were fought about as much in the stands as on the ice.  Hurricanes games attended by a few thousand distracted corporate PhDs from the UK just don't have the same Clockwork Orange vibe as a Caps/Flyers playoff game in Landover where people are showing up with bicycle chains around their wrists and bricks in their pockets.  Not sure I miss that, but the Flyers fans clearly do...

Fack! These penalties have been killing us. What was huge down the final stretch of the reg. season was that we had very few penalties.

Cooke seems to be one of the smartest players here. I'm starting to really like that guy.

3-4 Caps players including Bradley and Fed had a chance to clear the puck.  That is an absolute killer.

That was a great move by AO. Just missed. He needs to keep trying that one.

No matter what happens here, this has been the most evenly-matched hockey game I have ever seen.

Come on, Caps!
