That was a pretty indigestible game...well. Meh, whatever, I've gone to almost every home game, and why stop now.  Carolina has a long homestand, and we play the nastiest of the East on the road, so our season will end next month...still, what a change from 2004-2007 (last place).

that was ******* awful

stop playing like ballsack you pieces of ****

theyve been a no-show at any of the three big games we've had recently

at least i sold my tickets for tomorrow for a hefty profit to hedge against another ******** performance

1 goal on home ice?? Give me a freaking break.  This team has run it's course.  They just do not know how to score.  I don't care how many shots they had, that doesn't count for jack crap.

I guess one point is better than none, but we do need some wins to catch back up in the division.

When is Clark supposed to be back?

Yep.  People fail to realize just how important goalies are.  In the last few weeks several opposing goalies have have beaten us.  Dipietro, Lehtonen, and now Brodeur have single-handedly defeated us.  I'm still waiting for our goalies to win us a game or two.

The Devils might be the most boring team in hockey...unfortunately, that kind of dreary, stifling play (with an inpenetrable goal) wins a lot of championships.

Good crowd today, even Pollin's bermuda triangle sections were mostly full.

That's the case in all sports.  Defense wins games/championships, but offense puts people in the seats.

I can't say I'm that disappointed in today seeing that the Devils are a pretty good team.  It shows that this team is capable of playing with the best.

I'll be curious if something (anything) will be done by the trade deadline.  Maybe get some defense, however I know that's unlikely since McPhee isn't a fan of defensemen that actually play defense.

thats what makes it frustrating. they piss away the first 20 games of the season. then they cant win a big game when people actually showup to watch them.

this team can play with the good teams but they choke against any SE team.

i'd rather they just suck than tease. although it is nice that they keep me interested until baseball almost starts

Caps trade a 2nd round pick (2009) for Montreal goalie Cristobal Huet!!  About time we got a goalie worth a damn!

Huet is good...21-12-6 with a 2.49 goals-against average and .916 save percentage (although 2-4-0 with a 4.31 GAA in his last six NHL games).  Hope he likes freedom fries (he's French, i.e. from France, not Quebec).

Columbus Center Sergei Fedorov has reportedy been dealt to the Caps, too. The team has not commented on the move, but I'm hearing the deal involves a prospect heading to the Blue Jackets. Working to get this confirmed.

If anyone was wondering whether the Caps are serious about making the playoffs thisseason, well McPhee has provided an emphatic answer this afternoon.

Wow!  They better make the playoffs now.  Fedorov used to be a beast.

Pettinger is gone too.  For Matt Cooke from Vancouver. He doesn't sound like anything special but Pettinger was awful anyways.

These trades are nice but I have a feeling it might be too late.  5 points back with only 19 games to go.  I definitely hope we sign Huet to a 3-4 year deal though.

It's my understanding that Cooke is a mean and dirty player.  I like the addition.

Best wishes to Pettinger.  He needed the change of scenery.

Wow, these trades sound great! I know Federov is a center, but he's a really good defensive player, right? And we finally got a better goalie!!! Definitely upgrades. I'd definitely like us to get some more D if possible, though.

Damn, and Hossa went to Pittsburgh. I didn't even know they were in the running for him.

fedorov is a -3. not terrible. his low point total indicates he might not have played with scorers.  put him with semin or ovechkin and he'd probably be a +.  so yes, he does look defensively responsible.  even if he just plays on the PP and passes the puck i can live with it.

so wtf are we gonna do with three goalies. i would have thought one of them would have moved.

either he is a rental or they are going to tie up some serious money in very few players.  Hossa, Crosby, and Malkin + 20 NHL minimum players

with the acquisition of fedorov, it would be cool if we changed our unis to all read and put CCCP on the front.  lets create a WWF story line a start faux cold war in the NHL.  the caps would be the heels and we would root for the bad guys

It worked out perfectly

Laich is becoming a fairly reliable scorer for us which is nice.  Come on Caps, don't let up.  Let's blow them out on National TV.
