Hi Carl!

Yeah, I think we should shut down the Phils and shut up their announcers.  Let's throw a curve at them!!

Hi Kim!

Rare Saturday off for me, I'm "working" tomorrow night.  Nice to see you.

Don't forget, the all-important...

(Image removed from quote.)

ya, I thank Belly for the bazooka too! That was so awesome. Belly just looks at me, sees my Curly W, and flicks me a piece of bazooka w/o me even asking. I sound like a 10 yr old dork, but I'm actually 18. Pretty embarrassing but whatever, I have a man crush on Belly.

I'm sickened more by the prospect of the Phillies being in the playoffs.
...or the Fightin' Phils, as the FOX broadcaster called them!

It plays into our plans.. their players will want more money.
Rowand is a free agent and will be a National in 2008.

You have to maintain control of the ball while rolling on the ground for the out to count.  Umps made the proper call.

  A 10-year-old is just a wide-eyed kid.
An 18-year-old is a dork.  We need all the dorks we can get into the stands in Toronto.

No sir.  He touched the bag with the ball securely in glove.  It wasn't until a second or two after the play when the ball dropped out.  It happens more frequently at 2nd when someone is trying to turn a DP but drop the ball almost instantly after catching it.  The runner is always called out.

Good start, Matt!

Different situation.  In the case you are talking about, it's considered "after the play."  During this case, it's a continuation of the play.  You have to maintain control "through the play."  If you were correct, Acta probably would have paid a visit.

I don't know what you saw, sportsfan, but the bag clearly knocked the ball out, which would definitely make the runner safe at first. Those calls at second happen when the second baseman is starting his transfer from glove to hand (even in the beginning of the transfer) and the ball falls out. In that case, baseball rule-wise, the runner is out.
