Haha, I dont expect much posts for this one, or attendance, this was a very great season its a shame it has to end on such a sour note. Patterson deserves better on any other team he would be a CY Young Candidate. He's such a good guy too. God, I really hate our offense. I predict that Patterson will pitch wonderfully but either get a nodecision or a loss because of our offense. We were once 5.5 games up on Atlanta and they messed that up just because they cant hit the ball. I mean I would undertand if they had horrible pitching, bullpen and everything else but the ONLY PROBLEM is that they can hit. I dont think they understand how important these games are. Sorry, for rambling like this, it just upsets me how the Nats have wasted a solid starting rotation, bullpen and defense, all because they cant hit. It really breaks my heart

I've noticed attendance at RFK and traffic on this site have been down lately.  What's the deal?  Even if you fully expect the Nats to sputter to the finish line, I think it's a pretty lame move by the fans to stop showing their support during the most crucial month of the season, especially when the team is still well within the running for the wild card.

Here's the deal:  the start of school is a big reason for a decline in attendance at baseball games once September rolls around.

And not posting here ad nauseam doesn't mean that we don't care about the team.

What's lame is making snap judgments.

No need to take it so personally.  I'm thrilled that anyone posts here at all, I was referring mostly to the decrease in attendance.  I'm not judging anyone.

If we do not convert this leadoff triple, I believe I might eat my hat.

Haha. As soon as I reached for my hat to put it on, Guillen scored the runner.

oh, it comes with the territory. Sadly, being a teenager comes with being bipolar. But anyway, the only way I'll be calling for us to win the World Series is if they win today and sweep not win 2 of 3 but sweep the Braves. Just because I think they're gonna sputter to the end doesnt mean im still not a NATIONALZFANATIC!!!

Why is Castilla swinging at so many first pitches, lately?

What's wrong with him?

My guess is he's looking for those "easy" first pitch strikes down the heart of the plate.

Patterson is always nervous early.  If he can get out of this inning I bet he'll be golden for the rest of the game.

Yet he keeps grounding or popping out.  How many times does it have to happen before he learns from it?

And Castilla popping out on the first pitch was particularly bad tonight.  Patterson's pitch count is already skyrocketing over Beckett's.
