Does Guzman have to be beaten unconsious with a bat in order to keep him out of the lineup?

Our batters would never be patient enough to get three consecutive walks.

Vidro is out so we replace him with Guzman?  You know I have about had it with this kind of nonsense.  I would also much rather see Byrd batting leadoff.

Because it works!  Sometimes.  And when it doesn't, it's directly because of something we did wrong! ;)

I'm at work, but I'm trying to get, er, work done, so I'm only checking out the score once in a while.  My poor heart can't take too many nights of closely followed games in a row.

edit - wilkerson walk?  That's unpossible!

I think most athletes are superstitious, all at different levels. On the hockey team I work for here, players wear the same shirt under their equipment all the time. Before yesterday's game, one player was in a panic because his shirt was shredded in the washer. The trainer stitched it up and he was happy. That same player after the game took his shirt home to *improve* the stitching....

Has anyone else noticed that Nick Johnson looks like Super Mario with the red cap and moustache?

That's why Jamie Carroll shouldn't bat #8.  His primary strength is getting on base and that's wasted batting before the pitcher.

...and, of course, the pitcher proceeds to get a hit, just as I hit submit.  :D

9 out of 10 ballparks that Cruz flyout to center was a homer.  He's gonna have to get used to looking for pitches that can be powered down the alleys.
