Redding started hot but he has quickly fizzled out.
Last 3 starts: 11.1 IP 10 R 10 ER 2 HR 12 BB 4 SO (0-1, 7.94 ERA)

He walks way too many batters and leaves way too many pitches over the plate.
He had one bad start against the Rockies.  The next start he struggle against the Giants but only gave up 3 runs in 5 innings then got hit in the elbow against the Marlins in the third.  Batters make adjustments to pitchers and then pitcher make changes.  Zambrano and Hudson went through 4 and 5 bad starts then adjusted.  He has good stuff and I am confident with Randy working with him throught next spring he will be a solid starter.

Sorry for my absence lately...my Nats interest is petering out as usual, with football starting and the Nats finishing out a dismal year.

I think they should fire Carpenter and hire a more exciting play-by-play guy.  Sutton is boring, but he's very knowledgeable.

Brian Lawrence  :worship: :worship:

The coaching has to take some blame.  The hitters look absolutely clueless as to what Lawrence is throwing.

Uggh, he's not throwing great pitches, he's just mixing them up greatly.  Hard to watch.

Some people got bent out of shape when sportsfan suggested that some of the players have mailed it in but as Baylor said the other day in the pregame, at this time in the season when there is nothing to play for, guys start losing focus and have their minds on other things like vacations and stuff like that. It's human nature to do so, in the same way 2K6 just said his interest has waned as of late. Baylor even said he saw this happened not just when he played but when he managed.

this is unreal, Redding looks awful. Should have never started him to begin with, he's obviously still nowhere near 100%. Where is Lannan? I still have no clue why we sent him down.

Manny continues to play Logan over any logic.  Church is lefthanded and should be playing tonight just on that basis.  In the last month Logan has a .277 OBP and 25 K's in 87 AB's not what you want from lead-off hitter with no power.
It took him a month to get Lopez out of the line-up, two months to start playing Flores now a month of non-production from Logan to get him out of the line-up.  Church has exactly the same statistics as Kearns with a better SLG Pct. in 15 less games and he does not play.  Fick gets starts at 1B for Young all the time while Batista has produced all year.
It is stunning how many misjudgements these guys make all year that the normal fan has no problem seeing.

Where in the hell is this ump's strike zone?  At least two of those pitches were obviously outside.

Just once this year I would love to see Lenny Harris prepare this team to hit against a slow throwing in the dirt guy.  Just once!

4 Innings to stop finally swinging at crap pitches and get a run.
