A little less than Kearns. Besides, I wasn't being precise. I was using an approximate number to lowball him and demonstrate my stance on Jones.

I just don't trust him. 10 blown saves, that is a TERRIBLE number. We should definitely start trying with different options by now.
First of all he has only 9 blown saves.  Second he had a tough first six weeks as did the whole team when he started out 4 for 8 while dealing with his Grandmother dying,  so let's give him a break for that.
Since then he is 29 for 34 which puts him in the top six in the league if you bother looking at the save totals for the league which I am guessing you have not.  He is not great but good at closing. and has been for three years.  Most of the time he has to save 1 run leads which is difficult.  Most of the good closers are on good teams with 3 run leads in the ninth so giving up a run is not a big deal.  Rarely does he give up more than run.  His ERA is around 3 runs per game.  Rauch gave up a run last night that killed us.  His ERA is much higher than Cordero but rarely do people get on him.

For Jones, I'd also consider a higher salary for a one-year deal.

He throws too many pitches every outing he has. Its not like he can't pitch consecutive games. Thurday was an offday. He should be good to go tonite, and he should want to go tonite to get tha bad taste outta his mouth after last nite.

I wish whoever closes the game is able to actually close it. Whether it's Cordero, Schroeder or Colome. I think that it is time to give someone else a shot to be a closer after Chad's mind-blowing numbers this season.

I'd give him a multi-year contract with team-options.

sheesh, why must you do this. They never get tha hit when you do say this. We used to do this to Vidro last season, and he never came thru.

Most of the good closers are on good teams with 3 run leads in the ninth so giving up a run is not a big deal.

I beg to differ. Besides, he is paid to close games, not close only the games that have 3 run cushions. As for his bereavements, it's all fine that he had that in his mind. He's human after all (he proves that on a regular basis). But that doesn't mean crap in the standings. Our record is a definite number that does not reflect his bereavement leave nor is it viewed by the NL as better than what it is because of what happened in his family. Will they let us compete for the Wild Card because of all the bad breaks we got this season? That's not how it goes.

Actually, they hit more often when I do it than when I don't.  I'm very superstitious and I pay attention to things like that.
