Nationals vs Marlins, Game 1
« on: September 03, 2007, 12:49:43 pm »
Marlins

Ramirez SS
Uggla 2B
Hermida RF
Cabrera 3B
Willingham LF
Jacobs 1B
Ross CF
Olivo C
Vanderhurk P

Nationals

Logan CF
Lopez SS
$immerman 3B
Young 1B
Kearns RF
Peña LF
Belliard 2B
Schneider C
Bergmann P

The Marlins are throwing someone at us with a high ERA. Hopefully we can take advantage of that by putting up 5 runs by the 4th inning. The Nats have Bergmann hurling and we're all hoping he can improve on his last outing and give us at least 6 and maybe even 7 solid frames with 2 runs or fewer.

Support your Nats by eating more Marlin, the new Chicken of the Sea!

Detwiler will be called up tomorrow along with Bowie, Maxwell, Langerhans, Albaladejo and Muñoz. Only 2 position players and no infielders.

I guess I'm flying solo today. No worries. I've navigated without a co-pilot many times.

Ramirez hurt his shoulder swinging but will stay in the game.

He must've been faking because he rocked Bergmann's very next beachball.

I'm watching the game right now. It's my birthday today, Nats are undefeated when it's my birthday, except not really.

Go nats.

Nice play by Kearns keeping Ramirez at 3rd with a missile from RF on a potential sac fly. Hopefully Bergmann doesn't roll over for Cabrera.

Welcome and happy b-day. What do you mean they are undefeated but not really?

Thanks and not sure, have they won on the previous 9/3's?

Yes they beat the D-Backs last year and the Phillies the previous season. You should start celebrating your b-day more often

Nice pitch. Long inning but he worked himself out of it.

Logan grounds out weakly. Lopez draws a walk.

Pathetic. These guys must have our signals. Lopez thrown out on a steal attempt.

These guys own Bergmann. He served Jacobs a beachball and we now trail 1-0.

Dmitri comes close to tying it but Hermida drops it for a two base error. Too bad it didn't bounce the other way for a home run. Dmitri on second. We must plate that run.

Finally, a hit. (well, almost a hit  :o )

This Marlins pitcher has an almost 7 ERA!  We should already have two runs against him!

Kearns only knows one way to swing. He can't even shorten his swing for the sake of moving the runner over.

That would've been a tough play but Hermida is having a bad inning. Hopefully the ball keeps finding him

Runners on 2nd and 3rd with no outs!

This should be a 3-run inning, at least!

Two errors for Hermida. We must take advantage of this opportunity and plate both these runs to take the lead.

And Cabrera is not a great fielder. Peña has OK speed. He should've forced him to make a tough throw to first!
