There is no defending the bullpen... They are terrible, all of them.

Kemp homered to right.
Kent doubled to left.
Is this why we waited so long for Ayala to return?

This bullpen needs a six month break.

In all my 54 years I have never seen anything like this exceptional ineptness.
Why did they even both to score all these runs just get blown out like the O's and go home with your tails between your legs this is worse.
Suddenly a bullpen that was the best in baseball for two months and exceptional all year has completely inploded over the last two weeks!
I mean even the O's bullpen pitches several scoreless innings every few games or so.  This is the 8th close game in a row that the bullpen has given up runs.  Just by the law of averages they would have saved one of those games.  No conspiracy, Huh?

It's crazy.  The bullpen hasn't been wasting time giving up runs and blowing leads either.  After regaining the lead 9-8 it took Ayala all of 3 pitches to blow the lead.  It's not just one guy in the pen either, they have all hit rock bottom at the same time.

On the bright side, the game is tied, and we've got much better hitters on our bench than the Dodgers, who only have two batters left.

bullpen has been overworked. CHad has been overrated. Ayala has no excuses.

Could this get more bizarre?  We finally strike out someone and he hurts himself.

I believe he is the reason they didn't mind parting w/ Betemit. Keep in mind that Garciaparra's out, too.

But we're going to run out of pitchers before they do.

We can't afford to use another pitcher.
