Gameday Thread: Nationals vs Cards, Game 3 (L)
« Topic Start: August 28, 2005, 09:46:58 AM »
Game Time: 1:05 PM

Cal Eldred, RHP (1-0, 2.22)
For a second consecutive day, Mark Mulder is a scratch for his scheduled start. In his place, veteran Cal Eldred takes the ball for the Cardinals. The veteran is no stranger to a starting assignment, having logged 191 over his Major League career, which began in 1991 with the Brewers. But this will be his first start since 2001, when he was a member of the White Sox.

John Halama, LHP (1-1, 5.33)
Halama makes just his second start of the season in place of Tony Armas Jr. In his last start, Halama -- then with the Red Sox -- allowed two runs on four hits over five innings to pick up a win over the Tigers on May 3. In his last outing, Aug. 23 against the Reds, he allowed one hit and no runs in two innings.

Starting Lineups:

1. David Eckstein, SS     Brad Wilkerson, LF
2. Jim Edmonds, CF        Jamey Carroll, 2B

I can almost see you two wrestling to get at the keyboard to post a message or reply. What the world needs for couples or people who share a computer, is a computer system that can have split screens and accept input form more than one input device, namely the keyboard and mouse.

Do we have any volunteers on inventing one of those?
Who knows, you could become the next Steve Jobs.

I wonder if Halama's been taking lessons from Livan.

I thought Albert was safe on first view, but they almost always call you out on the pickoff on principle.   Definitely looked like a phantom tag on the 2nd base angle replay (good Job guzman).   I'll bet Albert was arguing that the move to first was a balk and that is what got him tossed.  Glad I didn't pay to see Albert get tossed out!

Pujols is a lot of fun to watch, but if I go to games, I go to see the Nats.  I don't really care about opposing players (unless it's Vladdy).

This deserves celebration!  We aren't getting no-hit today! Go Jamey!

Now we need Nick to go into a little 10/10 streak.

typical joke inning for this team - can't score with men on 1st and 2nd no out.

2-0 Cards on Cardinals double steal.  Oh well...the only way we were going to win this game anyways was with the score remaining 0-0 until the bottom of extra innings with a bases loaded WALK.  Do you think that Nationals know what that wooden thing is that they rest on their shoulder when standing next to that pentagon shaped thing?

Did the players on this team ever know how to hit?  Or do they just forget once they get here?

God Damnit!  Nobody gives a damn...looks like everybody just wants to get the season over with.  If this is the way they played in Montreal I can see why they lost their fanbase.
