If he hits, he hits but don't give it to him.  That's as good as it could get.

Is this Carlos Ruiz or Mike Piazza (in his prime)?   :-[

Hamels has thrown one or two strikes, at most, to every batter and he keeps getting outs.

A loss in this game wouldn't be the worst loss of the season but it damn sure would be one of the most disappointing.

DISAPPOINTING...

Hamels could pitch 20 innings tonight at this rate.

Have our hitters even been watching the game?  Have they not noticed that Hamels isn't throwing many pitches in the strike zone?

Why would any one of them assume that when THEY get to bat, that's the time that Hamels is going to start throwing strikes?

Why is that?  I can think of several off the top of my head that are more dissapointing.  #1 on my list is the infamous inside the park game tying gift with two outs and two strikes to Rollins a few weeks ago.  Surely you remember our Keystone Cops defense on that play - we went on to lose in 14.  Any time we blow late leads are more dissapointing to me....like Tuesday night.

This is disappointing because it's so winnable.  Hamels pitches are ending everywhere except the strike zone but that didn't stop us from swinging.

And our hitters KNOW this about Hamels, tonight, and THEY KEEP SWINGING!

Hey Bob, instead of laughing at the Phillies' offense why don't you talk about our offense which is 10 times worse??

And Hamels came into the game leading the majors in HRs given up.  And it's not just at home (13), he's given up 12 on the road.

But if he keeps throwing balls, you take the walks!
