Two players that confuse the heck out of me of why they are able to stay on this team...Robert Fick and Traber.   :?

damnit traber

He shouldn't be starting. He's terrible against right-handed hitters.

How could the birds trade Maine for Benson :icon_exclaim:
I guess that was a gift - a little "thank you" to the Mets for that Bordick for Mora trade way back when.

what is with Manny and his obligations to start crappy bench players? He needs to put out the best lineup, especially vs the Mets

Nook should not be throwing home. He has no arm. Milledge is an idiot for not going to second. Traber starting against this many right-handed hitters is a prescription for a long game.
Yep, Traber should never ever start a game.  He is a mediocre LH specialist at best.  Why not call up someone else from AAA since all of the other call ups have been successful.

This will never cease to confuse me. What good is a pitcher that can only be effective against batters from one side of the plate? Guys like that shouldn't be in the majors in my opinion.

Billy K's Wright, nice. If he can get out of this inning with just that 1 run, I'll be impressed.

He's had two starts, so the other 9 were in relief - for what, 1 inning at a time? ... I think you are really REACHING there - besides all that tells me is he's due for a win...

Bob is so optimistic..."Okay now Traber is out of the inning with a double play ball."

LOL I know you hate the Mets but I'm not sure Manny is thinking about that. Having said that, considering we have a day off tomorrow everyone should be playing.

I know, but no other manager in the majors does what Manny does with Fick, Jimenez, Batista!

If you can find a guy who can get both types of hitters out with equal efficiency as a lefty specialist gets out lefties, you would have gold. The reality is that teams keep lefties around in the bullpen for situational purposes. It may not seem useful on a sub-500 team, but it is difficult to make a playoff run or win a title without one or two of them.

It's like Manny has an obligation to start these bums at least once or twice a week, especially on Sundays.

That run may wind up being unearned if they change the scoring of Church's play into an error.
