The Mets bring in celebrities to conduct lessons in how to cheer.  Kevin James, Chris Rock.

and there goes the tie.. awful, just awful.  Why give in to him on a 3-2 count with 1st base open?

The offense sucked for this day game.

worthless, absolutely worthless. The guys would have been better served to rest up for tonight's game and skip this game completely.  It's a shame because Redding was spectacular.  Unfortunately the offense couldn't touch the hittable Orlando Hernandez.  I'm sure 0-7 Mike Pelfrey will shut us out tonight.  The Mets are well on their way to taking 3 out of 4.

Not a hit from #3 through #9.  The only hits came from Lopez and Jimenez.

JIMENEZ!!!

El Duque's stuff was not outstanding. They just slumbered at the plate.

Hanrahan vs. Pelfrey, anything could happen tonight.

Joel Hanrahan will be brought up from the minors to start during Washington's day-night doubleheader at the New York Mets on Saturday. He is 5-4 with a 3.70 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 75 1-3 innings at Columbus. The 25-year-old Hanrahan signed with the Nationals as a minor league free agent in November.  This is Hanrahan's MAJOR LEAGUE DEBUT, the 2nd in the same week for Washington, following John Lannan's debut earlier this week.

GOOD LUCK JOEL...

"Anything" should be a Nats win because Mike Pelfrey stinks.

Stinks so bad that Bowden wants him for Cordero?

I was watching the game, very lackluster. Redding pitched a great game though, too bad our offense only managed 3 hits. 3 of 4 will suffice, though i was really craving a 4 game sweep. I'm excited to see what Joel can do in the night cap!

Get out of here. That would be robbery! You can say all you want about Pelfrey and his potential, but the stats show he is 0-7. The only player i would want from the Mutts is Lastings. I hate him as a Met but i would love him as a Nat!

p.s. Bowden will scratch the Pelfrey off the list once we rock him tonight and make him 0-8
