All you have to do is look at lineup to understand why we don't average too many runs. We need to address that...we ALL know that. It's hard for me to believe they aren't trying to score more than 2 or 3 runs. This is why I want a guy like Dunn. I know, a lot of you don't agree, but he's got something we're lacking; POWER.
Agreed. His stock cannot get any higher than it is right now. The sooner we get rid of him, the more we are going to get in return.
Well, well, well ... another 1, 2, 3 ... our bullpen is so solid ..
That disastrous 4th inning doomed us.
You're quite right wpa. However, at times, it seems as if they go up against certain pitchers and decide early that they can't hit him and roll over for the rest of the game. That's just my opinion and I realize it could be wrong.
Imagine what our BP would be like if our starters could shoulder one more inning per outing and they had one less inning to worry about!
I think that much of the angst at the plate has to do with certain types of pitchers - and how they seem to get in our hitter's heads - but I refuse to believe that this team ever rolls over ... if that was the case, they'd get blown out every night - the games may not always be pretty - but with the exception of the Tigers - this team has shown they can and will hang with anyone ..
The offense rolls over every night and the only thing keeping the games from being blowout is great pitching (mostly the bullpen but the starting pitching is decent).
It would really be nice if we could get something out of our #3 and #4 hitters tonight!
