No FIPs posted because they're pretty consistent with Junk and Alvarez's ERAs.

Alvarez has a high BB rate (10.6 BB%) but a low HR/FB rate (7.7%) and a high GB rate (49.6%).

Junk is a low K (16.5%), low BB (6.2%) pitcher with a good GB rate (44%) and slightly high HF/FB (10%)

House is .190/.254/.324/.578 against righties. Vivas is .236/.331/.329/.660.

Makes all the sense in the world, which makes me wonder why he's not in the Nats lineup...

Vivas is terrible offensively and defensively. Will not be a part of the team going forward

House is the 112th ranked fielding 3rd baseman in all of baseball with a .940 fielding average. He's dreadful...and having a strong arm is pretty useless if you boot the ball and/or throw it away...

Vivas is just as bad with a .934 fielding average, but at least he can hit righties...

if this were AAA or just playing for 2027, then you play House unless you want to rest him

Also, advanced stats like OAA say Vivas is better at 3B than House, but it's small numbers in one season. They may prefer timing Vivas days at 3B for when the Nats have a GB pitcher

I won't disagree with you there...

If not for his speed and ability to beat out infield dribblers to boost his average, he's be totally worthless. His fielding was supposed to be a strong point, but I certainly haven't seen it.
