It's like anything else...you put skin in the game...and personally, had I lost yesterday's wager with Spider, I'd rather not post for 2 days than have to wear a Dylan K Crews avatar for the weekend...

...that would have been about as objectionable as my having to sport a Cubs logo...

I don't know what I'll have to complain about once Crews is gone...maybe I'll renew the crusade to replace the missing hands on the Nationals Park clock...

I used to push harder against bets where the lower doesn't post, but if I am OK with avatar bets, then I am ok with something that discourages posting. It also is fun for folks who do it. Don't want this to be a no fun board.

 If I had any say, I'd prefer bets to be no longer than 3 days, but I don't have any say.
