« on: August 04, 2026, 10:50:12 am »
There will be lots of roster decisions to make at the end of this year. Here's the list of Nationals top prospects who are eligible for Rule-5 after the end of the 2026 season:
- Jarlin Susana
- Travis Skyora
- Alejandro Rosario
- Yemeny Cabrera
- Cayden Wallace
- Yohandy Morales
- Eriq Swan
- Rafael Ramirez Jr.
- Andrew Pickney
- Sam Brown
- Jack Sinclari

Of the current 40 man roster, Bird, Mikolas, Littell, Lovelady, Palmquist, Schultz, Varland, and Williams will be gone. Additionally, we could probably boot Tena, Vivas, Millas, and Henry off and get them through the Rule 5 draft.

Gray and Herz will need to be added back to the 40 man. Parker will be but as soon as he is eligible, they'll put him back on the 60 day IL to recover from TJS. Same for Waldichuk

Susana, Sykora, Rosario, and Cabrera are locks. Wallace and Morales are probablys, but I could see them trading Morales. Swan a probably. Ramirez and Pickney are maybes. Brown and Sinclair can be left unprotected

Rosario likely won't pitch next year, doubtful anyone takes him.  Agree that Susana & Sykora are locks. Probably Morales too unless they trade him. I could see a team taking a flyer on Pickney.

Cabrera is an interesting one given his youth and that he's at A+. Someone signing him would essentially be doing what we did with Nunez and stashing him on the bench for a year.

Have we had another Rule-5 who became as established as a major leaguer has Nasim has?
