He could only field at 1B and had to be hidden against LHP. We brought back some immediate bullpen help and a couple flyers.
This feels like a Mead trade of help in the short and long term. Similar to Mead, betting the bounce isn’t permanent and trading from a deeper position to help a thin one. Whether we “win” the trades at both corner spots will largely rely on how we handle the spots for the rest of the season.
Credit to Toboni picking up his option last winter. I thought that was a horrible decision. I was wrong.
