This is ridiculous now.   Vivas is a terrible hitter and fielder.

I figured you'd be happy about no Tena.

House will play tomorrow and one of Young or Crews will sit.

First line of storms approaching Route 15 now. Should be in DC around 5:30-6:00. Radar app shows another line passing through DC between 8&9 if it develops. We’re under a tornado watch for the region until 10.

I mean, Chief is smart, but that smart?

I helped start one this season.  Nobody was around, JCA was at the game but started one with a single line, I followed and loaded the starting lineups.   Have to go back and see if they won that game, won't claim it if they lost.

House has to hit RHP. That's one of the two things he was to work on in Rochester. Besides, the numbers say that Toronto should bring in a LH relief pitcher next. If not, then Bucky Harris, the great Nats manager, started Curly Ofgen and replaced him with George Mogridge for nothing. For the reasoning, go back to my account of the 1924 Nationals game by game, and look at Game 7, 2024 World Series.

https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/WS1/WS1192410100.shtml

(OK. Bucky opened with Curly Ogden, a right handed spot starter who was down with a sore arm. He had George Mogredge, his south-paw ace warming up under the LF grand-stand. Ogden was supposed to pitch only to the leadoff hitter, Freddie Lindstrom. However, Ogden struk out Lindstrom, so Bucky let Ogden pit to the second batter. Ogden walked FRamnkie Frisch, future Hall of Famer. Then Harris brought in George Mogridge, the "bulk" pitcher. Mogridge, a 35 year-old lefty, had gone 16-11 that season, with a 3.76 ERA. Mogridge pitched six innings, shutting down Frisch until John McGraw pulled him.)

I don't think either Vivas or House could touch Hoffman or LVarland, so yes, as soon as the array of LHP relievers come in behind Bieber, pinch hit House.

Also - I think Ford gets the start tomorrow vs Yesavage. Day game after a late night.

If  the rain comes through, then this game isn't getting over until past midnight.

Just got the app alert because I had tickets. I suspect this game won't start until after 9.

They have dropped the earlier estimate of likelihood of rain at 8 and 9 down to single digits from well over 50%
