Worst team in the majors at home third best on the road.
Even if they were 10 places better at home they would be a sold prospect to make the playoffs

Just 0 for 4 with RISP, with Nunez and Crews  both stranding 2 with 2 outs. 7 LOB.  This one was on the offense, I/M/O. When the pitching staff limits the damage to 3 runs, this offense should pull it out.

Ribalta did his job, but Cosgrove, Littell let all 3 inherited runners score. I don't want to pound too hard on Littell for his performance. For some reason, he pitches better after an opener, but Butera really needs to think about getting  the opener out after 1 inning to give Littell a clean inning when he comes in. Only if there's 2 or 3 lefties in the next stretch should the Palmquist or whoever be pushed for a second inning. I  realize that Kepler and Del Castillo were 2 out of the next 3, but honestly, neither of those guys should intimidate Butera.

But Slate says the pitching matchups are not Butera's call...those belong to the analytics folks, and Butera is just an errand boy sent by grocery clerks to collect a bill.
