How about Jackson Rutledge? He was one of the last Big Three starters that Rizzo drafted. Best I remember, Rizzo explained that a team is built around starting pitchers, such as Zimmermann, Gio, Strasburg, Max. Cavalli, Cole, and Rutledge were to be next. Rutledge had TJS, I think, about 2019, and fell behind the other two. He threw hard, but never quite had control, or at least not consistently.

Dump him. I can’t believe his spot start was good and he performs like garbage in the minors.
Nats tried him as a reliever, but pitched badly in the majors this year, but respectably in Rochester until he was DFA'd in April, acquired bt the Phillies, and sent to their AAA team in May.
Missed this but the Phillies released Jackson Rutledge on July 23rd.
What happened to him? Did he never recover his control after TJS? Did he ever have it? Did he give up this year, when he began with a job in the Nats' bullpen? Did he quite on himself in Rochester?
