Last night felt like Crews' moment to push back on all the bust talk and he failed miserably. I like the kid. I think he has a ton of talent but man did that one hurt. I can understand just getting beat by a great pitcher. I mean, ultimately that's what happened. Hader is very good. No hate there but you just cannot swing at a ball 8" off the plate under those circumstances. That was brutal.

I assume the Trash Cans booth crew must have some sort of sponsorship deal - the color commentator has a habit of saying 'hey, bartender - it's a great night for a Jagerbomb...' everytime they score a HR. Or does he think he's just found a great catch-phrase?...

It's funny. It looked like and outstanding at bat the first couple of pitches. Laid off two chase pitches (a slider and a sinker), then got in a cut at a middle sinker that he fouled off. AB got away from him when he chased in the shadow area at the top of the middle of the strike zone. None of those were bad chases. Then he just capped it off with a bad chase at a ball as unhittable as the the bounced 1st pitch.

FWIW, after the take on the first slider, it was  all 94 MPH sinkers.

Garcia is a sub .600 bat against LHP, even in Triple A. Chapparo has at least had some success against LHP

Sorry, but this isn't going away. No amount of trajekt arc or driveline is going to fix this. He simply isn't a good hitter and we would be better served moving on. Particularly if we're actually serious about making the postseason.

Having Chaparro pinch-hit for Garcia is classic Butera. "By the book", no matter what. Pull the guy who is hot. "Standard decision Matt Williams" move.

.595 for his career. The 35 AB this season aren’t enough to override his history. Butera is doing exactly what got Weaver inducted into the Hall. Play the probabilities whenever possible. Las Vegas was built on that principle.
