It's not like they didn't blow 4 or so in the last inning over the last couple of weeks. He gives more leash than any high school coach. 3 doubles in a row and if he's not pulled that's a coaching issue. They won this time, but that doesn't fix the 4 they avoidably lost.

Kent is the back end of the bullpen. Wouldn't surprise me if he's sent down to get a fresh arm. But his job is to finish out games with big leads, and after he pitched a good 8th, the lead went up to 8 runs. It never got closer than 4 runs, 1 on, 2 outs. Saying it was within grand slam range means nothing if a home run would still leave you with a 2 run lead. He wasn't going to pitch to the tying run. And we saved 4 relievers for tomorrow when Littell pitches.

Yes, it got frustrating and nervous, but for once the likely outcome happened rather than something freaky.
