1 game back now from the WC and should be foreseeably be still in the hunt with very winnable games against the Rockies and Blue Jays. Unless there is a really bad collapse, there is no reasons they shouldn't be buyers. It's one thing to trade Mackenzie right before the season, but not making an effort to bolster the team at the trade deadline is just a step to far for me. The only major guys on the major league roster I'd consider trading would be Garcia and (as much as it really, really pains me to say this) Young, and ONLY if they bring back major league ready pitching.
With Garcia, you have 3 potential replacements for him ready and with Young, you could establish Crews as the CF, give regular time to Wood in right(which he likes, and the premium players do and should get there pick) and Lile in left, with the possibility of Ford being both a backup C and corner outfielder, even when Millas comes back. If they trade Griffin, I'll quit cold turkey for a few years. I don't want another poorly written write-up by Toboni saying how he empathizes with the fans about trading players away. Even if he walks this year, he's still bettering their chances of advancing further in the playoffs.
