In another 4 years, we’ll pretend to care about soccer again. Sucks for NFL players watching soccer on grass knowing the owners will immediately rip it out and replace it with AstroTurf
No pretense here. In 1996, during the Nats' long, long road trip, a friend took me to White Hart Lane for Tottenham Hotspur Football Club against Sunderland. I was thrilled by the running, the intensity, and the hard charging up and down the field. I've been a Spurs fan ever since. Went to several DC United games, including Soccer Bowl II in RFK, a perfect soccer stadium. Ah, to see those stands bounce again, and to explain to my son how RFK had been arranged for baseball.
As
little danny snyder choked the heart out of the Redskins, I took more and more of an interest in Spurs and the Premier League. In
little danny's last few years, I cheered every Redskin loss, and laughed when he even "re-branded" the team as the Commanders.
Therefore, I look forward to Tottenham's next season, with several better players at the core. Late August. (Shown on Peacock...English game-times do not conflict with the NFL)
