Vivas haters happy to see the object of their ire on the bench, but be warned he could pinch hit or be a defensive replacement. Mead at 3rd, Ruiz catching, Tena DH.
Marlins have moved Liam Hicks to leadoff and Xavier Edwards to 4th, perhaps to give their best lefty hitter an extra AB against Cavalli. Other than Hicks and Stowers (3rd), the lineup has the lefties at the 6-7-8 spots. A likely slot for Lovelady?
The games started are highlighted along with the innings pitched to show the different approaches of Cavalli and Alcantara. Sandy goes deep into games, averaging 6 and a quarter innings per start, with low Ks and BBs, and gets a normal rate of outs on contact, while Cavalli averages a bit less than 5 IP per start, but racks up Ks, limits HRs, and gets bit in the butt on balls in play. Those combinations give Cavalli a nicer FIP than ERA by more than half a run, while Alcantara has kind of slipped below his old outstanding numbers.
