Rizzo, Davey, and Coles need to be arrested for domestic terrorism for what they did to this team post-2019.  First time over .500 on Memorial Day since 2018 IIRC.
probably? 2019 was still digging out at this point, and 2021 didn't make their rush above .500 until June.

The Nationals radio broadcaster said after the game that there would be a mini-parade tomorrow for going over .500. I assume that this is somewhere near Nationals Park? Participants would then go to locals establishments and then watch tomorrow's game at Cleveland.

Do we think this was Washington's strong hitting or Cleveland's weak pitching?

OK, we will find out over the next few days.

It was the perfect confluence. I mean who extended them.

Team will still never contend if the owners don’t spend. We shall see.

Thank you to friends old and new who participated by viewing or posting comments.

With the :w: posted, we honor the memory of our friend Old Chelsea with the traditional post that tracks the Nats wins to date, in Anglophile style.

THE RACING PRECEDENTS - Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their 28th win, each season:

2017 - 24th May (45th match of season)
2016 - 24th May (46th match)
2026 - 25th May (55th match)
2018 - 26th May (50th match)
2012 - 26th May (46th match)
2015 - 27th May (47th match)
2013 - 31st May (55th match)
2025 - 31st May (58th match)
2005 - 2nd June (54th match)
2014 - 3rd June (56th match)
2019 - 5th June (61st match)
2024 - 7th June (63rd match)
2010 - 8th June (59th match)
2006 - 8th June (61st match)
2011 - 10th June (64th match)
2007 - 13th June (65th match)
2021 - 14th June (63rd match)
2008 - 14th June (70th match)
2023 - 21st June (73rd match)
2022 - 27th June (76th match)
2009 - 22nd July (94th match)
---
2020 - finished 26-34

Team 2026 moved over .500 with its 28th win. By moving over .500 on Memorial Day, it marked the first time since 2018 that the team was over .500 on that day, a traditional mark in the season. May 25 marked the latest in the year that the Nats have been over .500 since 7/1/21.

Team 2026 reached 28 wins 1 game before Team 2014, I/M/O the best team not to win the World Series. The current team is still well ahead of Team 2019, which started 19-31 and then . . . :) Team 2005 was 1 game quicker to 28 wins on its way to a 50-31 first half. Team 2024 pulled out of a 4 game losing streak with win 28 as it fell off its near-.500 pace; it would make 1 more push to 1 under in June (33-34) and remain in the wild card hunt.
