Game MVP for Ribalta. He did it in a game earlier in extra and did it again. Ice in the veins.

Had ‘em all the way. Just a fantastic series for the pitching staff. First series win in Atlanta since 2024.

Ribalta loaded the bases the past couple of times he pitched in order to practice for being clutch tonight.

How was that an earned run. The scorekeeper I guess thought it was not a DP. NUNEZ 6 th error. I really don’t see him as an asset with his BA.

Wasn't a great spot for Lovelady, tbh (3 days in a row, righties after Harris), but Ribalta seems like a late inning guy.

It took balls by Butera to put Ribalta back out there in such a pressure situation but he's not shy about putting players in positions of responsibility.  If they prove they can handle it, to grow into the role(s), they and the team are all the stronger.  In a way it must be liberating to be managing a team where the lack of defined roles is its identity, so a blank slate on which to create value.

You know those arrogant pricks expected to pull both those last two games out.  Only their second series loss of the season.  Boo Hoo.

I'm thinking about 2011, the year the Nats went .500, almost. They were 80-81, with a game cancelled. In 2012, the team went to the playoffs. Only Jordan Zimmermann in the rotation, plus John Lannan, and Livan. The bullpen had Storen and Clippad, plus "Silly Hat" Sean Bernett. Not quite the 2012 team, but good enough for the best Nats record since 1969.

Have to send a bullpen guy or two down.  Everyone is spent.   We really need to get Cranz up here.   He may be the best pitcher in the organization.
