Tempted to give Cavalli the 8th
No reason to bother. The offense is done.

I'll eat my crow on being a Cavalli pessimist.  He's turned in some solid outings.

This bullpen is sure difficult to watch, as is the infield defense.  Feels like this team is on the way to a prolonged slump soon.

"But the wind knocks it down"...and "Orlando Ribalta, put on your Houdini hat, because you just escaped". Ah, baseball on the radio!

Going to the Braves, it will be a few games, but this Nats team gives me hope.

Williams is great, but has a 4.60 ERA.

"And Lile ends up at second base!"

No, no, Tena. "That pitch was not close to a strike".

Threw away too many opportunities.

It might be a few games, but the Nats will get back to .500, and above.

Platoons have their limits when the strong-side guys aren't any good.  Three pinch-hitters on the strong side of platoons.  Three guys got themselves out.

Tough to waste a nice pitching performance for Cavalli and two bullpen escapes, but this is still a decent offense.

tena has been mostly successful hitting and pinch hitting this year. Vivas is exhausting my patience.

Time for a Dykmann Trippel.

It's just that Cavalli is the only starter I trust to pitch respectably.

Our 2026 Nationals appear to be afflicted by Numerophobia, especially around the number 500... ;)

I said, give Littell time and he'll come good - honest, guv...

House was our best hitter this year against lefties.   Wiemer was starting to find it again.   Why mess with the best offense in baseball?

If Chappie doesn't start hitting, he could be sent down and Weimer brought back probably. I think they are playing the contract with House, but sometimes it's better not to bet against the House, cause the House always wins.
