Scattered t-storms now. Wunderground says heavy t-storms through around 9 PM, so either a long delay or a postponement.

Nats have a chance to get back to .500.  Good chance for showers but not a rain out. Severe Thunderstorm Watch for the DC region until  8 PM. Showers look to be moving in west to east before 7 PM mostly north of the city so far. CWG has the park mostly dry before 7 but storms maybe moving in later.

Another Mets debut tonight, this time on the mound. Projection system have him as a middling starter with a low 4s ERA, but is middling better than Littell? Last 3 appearances for Littell included 2 with openers and one start, he's been on a tight leash, going 12.2 innings with limited damage - 4 runs, 3 earned, with 1 dinger. 8 hits, 4 BBs, 4 Ks. 5 days ago was his best appearance of the year - 5 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 2BB, 3 K.

The Nats new lineup vs LHP features Mead sliding over to 3rd, Chaparro slotting into House's spot in the batting order, Young dropped to 7th, and Crews replacing Wiemer in right and hitting 5th,  with Wood DHing. The Mets add MJ Melendez back to their lineup and give Luis Torrens the night off.

Seating bowl and red porch look like folks are under the stands.

Edit - this must have been shot before the gates opened because now it looks like a regular start

This is quite  an offense.

CJ seems super comfortable at cleanup, and Wood gets on at leadoff when he's not knocking one out.

CJ and Wood are a big part of it, but even someone like Mead, who's got a BB:K just over 1.  Have no idea how Toboni and co discovered him, or if it was just luck.

Our starting pitching sucks, but hopefully the Mets is worse this game.

hasn't really done this in the majors before, but maybe they unlocked something. Even in the minors he was about 1 BB  for 2 Ks, but the BB and K rates bounced around from the single digits to double digits year to year.

Nunez doesn't get on base much, but when he does, he's nearly impossible to get out on the basepaths.
