Nasim Nunez sitting for this game.

3 righty batters for the Nats spread out in the ##3, 6, & 9 spots in the order. Young's OPS vs righties - .531. vs lefties - .700.

Mead rather than Garcia at 1st even though early stats suggest Garcia may be the better option.

No opener for the Nats tonight. With Ward, Rustchman, and Alonso following Gunnar, makes sense not to throw a lefty in the 1st.

The 1 Win 4, Loss Faceoff

Shane Baz (RHP) 44.1 IP, 1-4, 5.48 ERA / 4.28 FIP, 7.71, 3.86 BB/9, 1.02 HR/9, 0.5 fWAR
Zack Littell (RHP) 36.1 IP, 1-4, 6.94 ERA / 8.26 FIP, 4.21 K/9, 3.22 BB/9, 3.47 HR/9, -1.1 fWAR

Not all 1-4 records are generated equally

3.47 HR/9. Imagine you get to the ballpark as an opposing hitter and see that. You'd be moonwalking to batting practice.

deleted my thread because it was later and merged the posts about the pitchers and the Nats line up.

Os are going with a lot of righty batters against Littell. They have lefty batters 1, 5, and 7, with Rutschman as a switch hitter.

Orioles are disappointing again given everything they did in the off-season, but such comes with the territory playing in the same division as the Yankees and Blue Jays

Seems Mead is going to get shots against RHP rather than Tena.

Mead rather than Garcia at 1st even though early stats suggest Garcia may be the better option.

thinking about Mead at 1st, I  guess it preserves defensive flexibility. Mead's ability to play 2b and 3b lets Butera pinch hit or pinch run for House or Vivas. Still would lose the dh if Garcia came in to field
