Did you like this approach? Worked out well, anyway.

IF we go to a reliever, I would think it'd be Granillo. save Waldichuk for after a righty (or open tomorrow).

If Weimer homers they should let him pitch the 9th.  :hysterical:

I dunno. I don't think I'd freak up my swing by going after that garbage.

Also, I bet the Phillies hitters don't wave the white flag in the bottom.  :?

We put balls in play tonight and good things happened. Don’t look now but we lead the league in runs scored.

I had to chuckle at some of the comments about putting the ball in play.  Made me think Darnell Coles is here.  Nice it worked one night but you won;t be able to replicate all those soft singles for a long time.  And the Garica double was even softer.  Nice pitching by Griffin though.  That't the most encouraging thing if you want to dream about a wild card spot.

Thanks to friends old and new who participated by viewing or posting comments.

With the :w: posted, we honor the memory of our friend Old Chelsea with the traditional post that tracks the Nats wins to date, in Anglophile style.

THE RACING PRECEDENTS - Comparative dates on which the Nationals notched their third win, each season:

2026 - 30th April (4th match of the season)
2018 - 1st April (3rd match)
2008 - 2nd April (3rd match)
2014 - 3rd April (3rd match)
2013 - 4th April (3rd match)
2019 - 4th April (6th match)
2025 - 6th April (9th match)
2017 - 7th April (4th match)
2024 - 7th April (9th match)
2011 - 8th April (7th match)
2023 - 8th April (9th match)
2005 - 9th April (5th match)
2016 - 10th April (4th match)
2012 - 10th April (5th match)
2010 - 11th April (6th match)
2022 - 13th April (7th match)
2021 - 14th April (9th match)
2007 - 14th April (12th match)
2015 - 15th April (9th match)
2006 - 15th April (12th match)
2009 - 21st April (13th match)
2020 - 30th July (7th match)

Even with the pace of 2016  and  2017. My eyes  teared up at the thought. It must be Dusty in here. 5 games ahead of the past 2 years.
