lets hold this open until first time through the rotation. Mikolas wasn't as bad as the defense behind him (except for Nunez) yesterday.

I do want to see Griffin but I think it is Irvin or Mikolas.

I think they’d be quick to Irvin to Rochester for a reset. I bet Mikolas is kept around and they jerk him around as a starter and mop up option.

that assumes Irvin is bad. May not be  a  bad assumption, but I think Mikolas is clearly bad.

I thought that Gray would be first up when the first OD starter was sent down until he was diagnosed with a flexor strain. My belief is that Gray's career trajectory is Joe Ross 2.0. Who is the next in line Alvarez or Parker as I really like where Lord is right now and can see him being the set-up man eventually.

I voted Mikolas but I think Littell could be a dark horse if the late signing and rapid ramp up messes with him.

I don’t want to see Mikolas pitch live ever again. Killing actual good vibes at the home opener.

Still predominantly Nats fans from my vantage point, which shocked me.

And Parker flopped in Rochester today, while Alvarez pitched well.  Maybe once more for Mikolas, and then he swaps with Alvarez.

I think they may call up a reliever like Ribalta tonight to thicken the bullpen (send down one of the relievers who has options?), then send Ribalta back down, bring up Alvarez for Mikolas's next start and move Mikolas to the bullpen.

Edit: I think Granillo is optioned regardless of whether they drop Mikolas from the rotation

Let's just Patrick Corbin him for the entire season. Bring it on.

I'd be happy if we DFA him and sign Corbin to take his place.

time for some tough love. Feed Alvarez to the wolves, and if he fails, then Cornholio. Give them a chance to stick in the majors before the hot shots like Susana get their chances

Too late for that, Corbin signed with the Jays

Need another question: who will be the first reliever sent down? Will he have had as much time as Poche and a couple others were given last year? Sims? (I remember Jorge Lopez as a special case. Not as bad as Poche and Sims, but his temper tantrums got him tossed by the Mets and the Nats)

Granillo. Waldichuk survives because he  throws lefty and can go > 2 innings.

Bump. Thought it would be enlightening to revisit our comments at the beginning of the season.

Get this POS off the team as he gets rescued in a critical game by the best offense in the majors.
