Patriots release Stefon Diggs.

https://www.boston.com/sports/new-england-patriots/2026/03/04/new-england-patriots-stefon-diggs-release-cut-nfl-football-cap-space/?p1=hp_secondary

saves $16 million on cap charges. For now, this would give them $55 million heading into the next league year. Several #1 wideouts in FA while AJ Brown wouid be a trade target.

Some big moves already - Tua getting released, Kenneth Walker III to the Chiefs (with Kelce coming back as well).

Wan'Dale Robinson to the Titans.

Mike Evans to the 49rs.

I kind of assumed that. I can't think of another reason to void a deal

It must be bad. Any decent free agents are gone and the Ravens have essentially done nothing

Multiple reports this morning (here's one from ESPN) say the NFL is considering adding a game the night before Thanksgiving, i.e., Wednesday night.

I think it's a terrible idea, at least in the northeastern part of the country. Traffic is already horrendous that night with Thanksgiving travel and now you want to mix in NFL traffic? Anyone who's passed through Baltimore or the DC area the night before Thanksgiving would shudder at the thought.

I would  guess most stadiums are right off of interstates and all of those would be a problem. Foxborough might work as it is on Route 1 rather than 95 or the outer beltway  (495). There's probably a few others that aren't on prime holiday highways.

That's what I was thinking. The Superdome, for one; Lambeau Field is as another that comes to mind off the top of my head. I think Buffalo's stadium (both the old one and the new one opening this year) is not right on an Interstate. I believe it's between US-219 and the Thruway, but the Thruway doesn't have an exit at the closest roads to the stadium.

Brilliant move.  That is one of the best drinking nights of the year

IIRC, there are more DUIs that night than on any other. You'd have to play teams coming out of the bye.

Another option might be to have two Thursday night games the week before Thanksgiving and then have one team from each of those play the Wednesday night game. That's not as far-fetched as it may seem. At least three times in the past several years, Dallas has hosted its traditional Thanksgiving Day game and then played again the following Thursday, so it doesn't seem out of the question to have two other teams play on Thursday night and then on Wednesday night. In terms of turnaround time, it's no different from playing on Monday night and then the following Sunday, although I suppose if neither of the teams had off the weekend before the Thursday night game they might have a legitimate complaint about back-to-back short weeks (Sunday–Thursday and then Thursday–Wednesday).

I would have thought it to be New Year's Eve...

Quote
The Wednesday before Thanksgiving through January 1st (including New Year’s day) are some of the most dangerous and deadly times to be on the roads. In fact, Thanksgiving eve has become THE most dangerous night of the year to drive, particularly in more urban areas, says SCRAM, makers of alcohol monitoring technology. Known as Blackout Wednesday, this holiday has surpassed New Year’s Eve and St. Patrick’s Day as the biggest drinking night of the year.

Nothing on that page...but I thought you were talking about DUI's...

IIRC, there are more DUIs that night than on any other.

https://www.selectlawpartners.com/faqs/what-holiday-has-the-most-duis/

When it comes to the holiday with the most DUIs, you are 117% more likely to be the victim of a DUI driver on New Year's Eve than any other night. The combination of alcohol, wintry weather, and late hours add up to an extreme chance of injury or death in an accident.

I think police are more primed for New Year's eve than the Wednesday before t-day. St Patrick's is also prime time.

Chiefs officially confirm signing of Walker, and Kelce's return. Interesting signing - how will Pacheco react to being de facto No2? Probably means that it's 'time's-up' for CEH as well. Is it a sign that the Chiefs don't think PH will have the same mobility, on his return, so putting more reliance on the ground game?

Agreed...helping the runner was against the rules in the old days...
