Might have been better off leaving him in the pen

Arraez walking? That's rare.

Oh, Raleigh would have thrown Sanoja out.

That was as good as baseball gets. And Judge and Harper are bridesmaids again.

Congrats Venezuela.

Machado gets the :w:

Abreu with Venezuela 's biggest dong, Whitlock gets abused, and Anthony with the last K.

Lots of Red Sox impacting the game.

Is kalshi taking bets on how many games it will take the marlins to equal tonight’s attendance?

It is a truly international sport now, which all fans benefit from.

I was in Latvia during the basketball world cup a while back and the country basically stopped during games.  That was cool.

The thing I'll miss most about the WBC is watching games with Latin American teams sans Dominican Republican. They were loaded with names up and down the roster and staff. Every game with Venezuela, Panama, Colombia was gold as far as "that guy" moments.

"Paolo Espino is pitching!""

"Is that the Machado pitching? The old Nat?"

"Did I just see Jhonatan Solano on the bench as a coach?"

"Who's the guy with the white beard? Is that you Eddie Rosario?"

"That's our guy Parra coaching up first!"

I  was  wondering if Rodney Theophile made the Nicaragua squad.

As for expanding the footprint of the game, it'd be cool if during the ASB they took maybe a couple of extra days and had a game in Italy or the Netherlands featuring some of the guys not in the all  star game who played for those  countries. They could play early evening on European time the day of the All Star game, which would be afternoon  here, as sort of a 1st game of a double header. Italy-Israel,  GB-Czechia, maybe a Netherlands team without its All Stars.

JFC, Did Coles join the USA coaching staff when I wasn't watching? Pathetic hitting the whole tournament.

WBC ratings were fantastic. From Maury Brown of Forbes:
Quote
The World Baseball Classic was a home run for FOX and FS1 this week, securing 6 spots in the Top 25 (including the first 2 slots) of Nielsen's Top 25 sporting event telecasts for the week of March 9 - March 15.

Overall, the #1-ranked live sports event of the week was FS1’s coverage of USA vs Dominican Republic with 6.86 million viewers on Sunday, March 15. The additional 5 include:

#2 - USA vs. Mexico - 4.7 million viewers (FOX)

#5 - USA vs. Canada - 4.2 million viewers (FOX)

#10 - Venezuela vs. Japan - 2.8 million viewers (FOX)

#20 - USA vs. Italy - 1.9 million viewers (FS1)

#24 - Italy vs. Mexico - 1.67 million viewers (FS1)

That's why they play 162. Any team can struggle for a couple of weeks, even good ones playing bad ones, let alone playing single game elimination.

rough outings for webb, skenes, and boyd this season. I wonder if it changes how teams think about the WBC.
