About as dominating inning you will ever see by Whitlock.

Worked.

What a bullpen. Jax to Bednar to Whitlock to Miller. Just need Miller to finish.

We’d still be playing with the abs system.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why we have ABS

With the slider and the dip below the strike zone, I wonder if it's the 2 dimensional box and where Smith caught it that made it look bad. Could have been a strike at the front of the plate but low where he caught it. aw, that's bs

Here’s the pitch track. Absolutely not a strike. Shame that the game is tarnished like this:

Meh.  It's baseball.  I also think Storen struck out Molina in Game 5, but he didn't get the call.  Who knows, maybe we go on to win the World Series if we get that call.

Nolan "Ryan John" McLean starting Tuesday for the US. DeRosa says he's not sure if Miller would be available.

Guys will unironically tell you that missed calls like that are a cherished part of the game.

What was the reason they didn't use ABS for this when they are using it for spring training and regular season?   It would seem like a good additional test case before regular season begins.

One reason they are eliminating the tv box on broadcasts this year is because it might not match up against the technology that MLB is using. Sony wbat people gettin upset when the ruling doesn’t match what people see on tv.  Not saying that was a strike last night but you never really know. Yea it makes no sense they didn’t have the technology for this tournament.  Have no idea why.

Aaron Nolan on the bump for Italy tonight.  So Lorenzen if they make the final.

McLean :smh: too bad they can't call up the best American starter scheduled for Tuesday in the grapefruit league.

As for ABS, I guess that they didn't know how players would adjust this spring having not played with it last year. Also, passing on it creates a more level playing field for federations that don't have it

Or unlike the regular season, the players get a say in WBC rule changes. So instead of picking a needless fight, the just went without.

How bad will it be for Latin America if it's Italy vs USA in the finals (or New Jersey vs USA?)
