I'm just bummed the Knicks won yesterday and all the news is about how they broke a long streak of not making the Finals instead of covering how our long Nationals nightmare of sub-.500 ball is over.

Don’t look now but the Phillies are 4.5 back. Braves have lots of pitching issues. Phillies need to find a fifth starter.  And a RH OF bat.  They seem to have Nola on a five inning limit which seems to be working better. Getting paid quite a bit to be a five inning guy. In retrospect they should have let the Braves sign him and extended Ranger when they could have. Such is life.

Mets almost blew a 10-3 lead in the bottom of the 9th in Atlanta. They prevailed 10-9.

Braves really came back to Earth. Somehow the Nats are only 6.5 out. Braves getting some players back would be the biggest add any team will do. I think Phillies push all in if they are close. Harper, Turner, Wheeler aren't getting younger. Schwarber is, it seems.

As for the beast division, 4 teams above .500.

With the Mets leading 2-0 in the top of the 9th, the Red Sox hit a potential game ending double-play ball to Lindor who boots it. Boston goes on to win 3-2 in 10.
