I just checked on Andrew Stevenson. He is still playing in the Mexican League, for Campeche. He hit well last season, for the Durham Bulls, Tampa's AAA team. Should have kept Stevenson, and sent Victor Robles to Nome, in the Alaska League, playing ice hockey.

Looking back at the 2019 team. The biggest crash to the bottom: Anthony Rendon. What a great player in Washington, and what a garbage dump with the Angels. He did make a lot of money, yes: "Career to date: $292,400" at Baseball Ref. He was making almost $19 million with the Nats in 2019. If he had signed for $20 or $25 million, he'd have been worshipped in The District: "Tony Two Bags". He made a lot of money being hurt in LA, but he is not a billionaire, and it's not likely he made all that much more, unless invested in something illegal. Insider trading?

What amount of ballplayer salary is enough? My favorite ballplayer, Nats slugger Roy Sievers, AL home run champ in 1957, quit a job managing a minor league team because he could not support his family. Our Roy went home to St Louis and worked for a trucking company.

Rendon will not have to work at a trucking company, but his will be remembered, in two baseball cities, as a talented guy who finished as a failure.

I'd say it's two-fold.

The top tier guys are overpaid. Then you have a lot of guys at important/high-leverage positions who are underpaid because their positions aren't as flashy (e.g. O-linemen in football, some relievers in MLB).
