On August 1 in the middle of a gameday thread versus the Braves in game # 3 of 4,before we ultimately lost, our record was 55-56. I predcicted that we would not see .500 again. Unfortunately, I thought at the time that we would flirt with .500 but this was several days before the trade deadline and we would jettison Mead and Garcia Jr. We now sit at 10 games below .500 and with 30 games remaining we will be lucky to win 10 more games. That would give us a record of 71-91 which is essctaially where we were for the past two seasons under the old regime. I am cognizant that we have also lost Wood (for the season?) and Abrams and this team could not afford to have their four best offensive players not playing at the same time.
