for people eligible for the federal employees health benefit program over 65, especially those of you who have retired, did you sign up for medicare? did you keep both and FEHB plan as a secondary as well as Medicare as the primary? Did you just stick with the FEHB? I'm coming up on 8 months since I retired, so I need to make a decision  soon.

The old Pfizer HQ on east 42nd street in NYC has been evacuated after fears of a collapse. Beams are buckling on the 21st floor. That building is close to grand central station and is in a very crowded part of Manhattan. I worked there quite a lot about 30 years ago. It is now being converted to residences.

NYC has closed multiple buildings and streets around it.

I saw a ton in Shenandoah NP 10 days ago, but they were less than 1/2" across so not easy to ID unless you look closely.  They lack the color pop but have the spots on their backs.  In other words, you might overlook the juveniles unless you know what you're looking for.

It might be the only state in the union that has that. He could have challenged it for cruel and unusual punishment and eliminated the law itself. 

Everyone railroaded into Virginia courts for driving more than 20 mph over the speed limit, or over a certain top speed being subjected to possible jail, would thank him. The primary purpose of the law is to enrich local lawyers by scaring all those motorists.

The last case I argued was such a case in Wythe County. Based on what I observed, it also serves to enrich the county governments, especially those lucky enough to be traversed by a stretch of rural interstate, and to enrich whoever runs the various state-approved driver safety courses.

North Carolina has a similar law. Don't know whether any other states do as well.

No one uses geography to their advantage in generating revenue quite like Austria...long and thin and straddling central Europe, they have absurdly low speed limits relative to the Italian autostrada and German autobahn; they catch speeders like a spiderweb next to a streetlight catches moths.  And if you didn't have the foresight to buy an Austrian vignette before crossing the border, you get to pay hundreds of Euros in fines on top of the speeding ticket.  The huge volume of road traffic between northern and southern Europe that crosses Austria has got to be the biggest highway cash cow on earth
