Today we dropped our car off at the mechanic to get the front bumper replaced. I crashed it into a wall of snowcrete back in late January and that stuff was hard like a real wall. I don't miss it!

wait, I  can rely on a natsnpitcher to fail with a high degree of confidence. Arebyou saying we should rely on weather models 5 days in advance with a high degree of confidence?

Flew into DCA this evening. And out Tuesday morning.  So that’s reassuring. I see a couple inches forecast in my weather app.  That should be conquerable.

I just landed at Dulles around 9. Kind of bumpy on approach but nothing too crazy.

We refer to that as the Patrick Corbin Model...

You pay thru the nose for it and it doesn't ever live up to expectations...but there it is...every 5 days!

GFS still showing a blizzard, Euro showing 1-3" for DC. CWG and others saying they lean toward the Euro solution, but can't rule out the GFS just yet, So no confidence in a forecast 48 hours out.

that's pretty rare this close.

My brother is supposed to get 8" tonight in Southern New Hampshire before the storm Sunday. His snow blower wasn't fixed when he recently brought it into the shop. Fortunately, he's hired a guy to plow his driveway, but there's still a short walkway, the cars parking spots, and the walkway to where he gets his heating oil.

Whatever's going to happen isn't supposed to happen until this evening and overnight.  Just rain so far.  Picked up a new snow shovel since I broke the last one trying to lever a rather large slab of refrozen snow and Can't say I'm really expecting much though, mostly got the shovel so I don't have to remember to do it next year.

Raining here, forecasters are bumping up snow totals a bit, now 2-6" for the DC area with more toward the coast and in the mountains. Will be in the 40s tomorrow so no repeat of snowcrete.

Looks like the coast from Maryland north is going to get walloped, i saw 2' or more for Long Island. 15-20" for Ocean City.
