It's pretty annoying that they don't have cable provider authentication working for Comcast or Fios. They'd unlocked access for me for the first month of the season, but they won't budge now when I ask them to reactivate it or just tell me when authentication through Fios will be working.

Yep. Its very annoying. Basically I miss the games now when I'm not home due to this and my only option is to pay them when I should be able to just use my service provider.

So we're only one month into the season and the nationals.tv page is showing me $49.99 for the season vs $99.99 six weeks ago?  You come out 30 bucks ahead if you just bought the monthly rate for the first month and then switch over...

Yea, guessing they didn't get the number of subscribers they were hoping for. Kind of corresponds with the drop in attendance that Nusbaum reported on.

At this point, C&D is free and you can also do other stuff like walk the dog and work on home projects.

they say it is a limited time sale, but who. knows. I got a $30 discount using govx as a former military member.

you ought to complain and see if they will give you a refund equal to the one month plus $49.99 you could  have  done. Ought  to be some sort of protection for early actors, especially if they are expecting people to renew next year.

The cancellation appears to be uh..  dragging its cyber-feet?  No email confirmation after several hours despite my account page saying I should receive one.  And in the meantime I can't buy the new plan because I have "previously purchased a similar product" - the spirit of the Natinals lives on

This is basically what MLB tv does every year.  The price gets discounted as the year goes along.  Let the buyer beware.

Of course, but a 50% discount after 1 month is rather amusing.

Subscriptions have probably lower than expected (consistent with low attendance) and they’re panicking.

You can now authenticate Nationals.tv with your Xfinity credentials. Still no Fios.

It looks like about 2/3s of the teams that mlb.tv is handling dropped to $44.99, and the rest to $89.99, with the Nats the only one at the $49.99 price.    I think MLB is involved in the pricing.  It all probably depends on how the contracts with the cable cos panned out.

MLB and the teams would likely rather have more subscribers at a cheaper rate but if they still are getting carriage fee revenue from Comcast/Xfinity, then they can't go too low as there is no value in what they are paying.

lol, turns out they don't refund partial months, and because my monthly plan is still active until the end of the current month I've paid for, I can't buy the season plan

Oh well.  By next month I'll either have tuned out anyway or the season plan will be even cheaper.  Guess I should've read the fine print.

In the app, when you click on "sign in with provider" it simply does nothing. It just drops back down and nothing loads or happens. You can click on it multiple times and it just does the same thing repeatedly.

That has been broken for me in the app as well. If you go to nationals.tv in a web browser, be it on your phone or on a computer, there is an Authenticate option in the menu.

Follow-up on this.  In a 24 hour span, I got 3 separate emails saying I would not receive a refund, I would receive a refund for 1 month, and I would receive a refund for 2 months.  I have no idea what the current status of my subscription is but I'm going to wait a few days and see what shows up on the bill

Doesn’t sound like they do either

Well of course now that my account is finally clear / "no sub", the sale or whatever it was is over.  Guess I'll bide my time for a bit because I'm definitely not paying $89.99 for the remainder of the season as it looks right now.
